Dr. Bentkover has used Botox® (Botulinum Toxin Type A) successfully for facial rejuvenation for since 1995. Botox® (also called Botox Cosmetic®) treats what are called "dynamic" wrinkles and creases through a process known as cosmetic denervation. In cosmetic denervation, the Botox® is injected in such a way as to block the signal from specific nerves to a particular muscle. In this way the Botox® can precisely block the action of a muscle or muscles that cause specific dynamic wrinkles or creases in your face. The effects of a typical treatment last about 3-4 months.

The risks and benefits of Botox® and Dysport® are very similar. If Botox® no longer works for you, Dysport® may still work. Also, data shows that the risk of developing an immunity to Dysport® should be lower.

Botox® and Dysport® are very safe.

The products have been used for over 20 years to treat conditions like facial muscle spasms. Common side affects include transient headache and, rarely, flu-like symptoms. Drooping of the upper eyelids or brows is also very rare and may be realted to movement of the product after injection from rubbing. Overdoses should be unheard of in the doses used on the face in adults.

An effective Botox® treatment depends on a number of factors:

The number of units delivered in each injection site. If too few units are used, the result may be less effective and shorter acting.
The injector's knowledge of the function, location and interplay between the muscle groups being injected in your face.
The injector's overall knowledge of facial aesthetics--what looks good and what does not look good.
A customized treatment for you. A commitment to using whatever amount of Botox it takes to achieve your individual aesthetic goals.

As a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Bentkover applies his knowledge of facial aesthetics and the interplay between the muscle groups being injected to give you as balanced and natural appearing a treatment as possible. The results of a Botox® treatment should be obvious to you but subtle to others. Dr. Bentkover uses as high and effective a dose of the product as needed to customize your treatment. If you need a higher or lower dose in a particular location, he will adjust the dose to achieve what you want.

There is no need to pay the high Boston or New York fees for Botox®. Our treatments are priced very competitively. We use only Allergan's Botox®. We will not skimp on the amount of Botox® injected. The secret to maintaining the look you want with Botox® is to stay on a regular schedule. Through our Botox® VIP program, our regualr patients also qualify for progressive discounts throughout the year. They only time they actually pay our full fee is at the first treatment. We also often run special discounts on Botox® around the winter holidays and in the spring.
